Enric Comabasosa-i-Esqué is a Senior Associate in the Banking & Financial Services and Insurance & Reinsurance practices of Elvinger Hoss Prussen. 

He advises banks, investment firms, payment and e-money institutions, and (re)insurance undertakings and intermediaries on the full range of Luxembourg and EU regulatory matters, both transactional and non-transactional. His practice covers the establishment, authorisation and cross-border activities of regulated entities, including freedom of services and freedom of establishment notifications; prudential and governance requirements under CRD/CRR and Solvency II; regulatory aspects of M&A and reorganisations, including change-of-control approvals; distribution and conduct of business under MiFID II and the IDD; and AML/CFT compliance. He has particular experience advising life and non-life insurers, reinsurers and insurance intermediaries, and advises regularly on dealings with the CSSF and the CAA.

Career and memberships

Enric re-joined Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 2026, having previously worked with the firm from 2019 to 2021, and subsequently practised with international law firms in Luxembourg. He was admitted to the Barcelona Bar and to the Luxembourg Bar in 2019, the latter under his home title.

Member of the Luxembourg Banking and Financial Law Association (ALJB).

Education

Double Bachelor’s in Spanish Law from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) and in French Law from the Université Toulouse 1 Capitole (France).

LL.M. in International Business Law and Legal Practice from ESADE (Spain).
