Elvinger Hoss Prussen and Friendship, a long-term partnership that helps to build bridges
We started 2024, by welcoming Runa Khan, Founder and Executive Director of Friendship, an international non-profit organisation based in Bangladesh, to our premises. Led by Marc Elvinger, Partner at Elvinger Hoss Prussen and Chairman of Friendship Luxembourg, Runa Kahn and Manou Hoss, Managing Partner at Elvinger Hoss Prussen, provided insight into the 15-year partnership between the two organisations.
A main focus of the talk was the necessary transition from traditional charity work to incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility and a long-term Environmental Social Governance (ESG) approach into the model.
Manou Hoss emphasised that social commitment has always been an important component of Elvinger Hoss Prussen's working culture. Cooperation, responsibility and decision-making are an expression of commitment and it includes providing support to those in need, locally or beyond Luxembourg's borders.
Friendship develops achievable solutions to empower marginalised communities in Bangladesh and enable people to transform their lives and realise their full potential.
"This is what makes the partnership with Friendship so special, because they get to the root of the problems and act entirely in the spirit of our firm," Manou Hoss explained.
A personal account of the work was given by Laura Arpetti, Partner at Elvinger Hoss Prussen, who shared her formative experiences as a volunteer on site.
Runa Khan underlined how at its core Friendship is built on trust and the humans who create it. That is why Elvinger Hoss Prussen is considered such a valuable partner, as they help build this relationship by integrating ESG factors into their core strategy.
"Trust is the basis of everything, and the ESG guidelines are an important step forward for our firm's mission. They strengthen our impact on society locally and globally." Manou Hoss, Managing Partner.
