We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Officer to join our General Counsel Office.

The Legal Officer will work closely with the General Counsel to deliver practical, business-oriented in-house legal support across a broad range of legal, compliance, and risk management matters. The role combines day-to-day legal advice to internal stakeholders with support for the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures, helping to ensure that the firm operates in line with applicable laws, professional regulations, and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the General Counsel in the management of internal legal, compliance, and risk management matters (including insurance).
  • Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of major contracts (e.g., client engagement letters, supplier agreements, service provider contracts, licenses).
  • Support the management, archiving, and organization of contracts and legal documentation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on matters of compliance, data protection, IT security, and other topics as required by the General Counsel.
  • Coordinate the drafting, review, and updating of internal policies, procedures, and compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal and compliance procedures.
  • Participate in internal projects and initiatives, including compliance audits, risk assessments, and crisis management planning.
  • Help coordinate responses to regulatory authorities, data protection authorities, and external legal service providers as needed.
  • Support the General Counsel in the preparation and delivery of presentations, training sessions, and awareness programs on legal, compliance, and risk topics for internal teams.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and case law developments impacting the organization and prepare briefings, alerts, and internal memorandum for relevant stakeholders.

  • Data protection and privacy
  • Technology law, with a focus on IT contracts, software licensing, and digital transformation
  • Regulatory compliance, especially in the context of lawyers’ professional rules

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in law (or equivalent legal qualification). Specialisation in contract law, technology law and/or data protection is an asset. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position or in a law firm, a corporate legal department, or similar environment.
  • Relevant project management, communication, analytical, and writing skills with a keen interest in technology and AI.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of Luxembourg civil law combined with demonstrated interest and expertise in technology-related legal matters and digital innovation.
  • Strong service orientation, relevant ability to build internal networks, and propose pragmatic solutions.
  • Perfect command of French and English.
