Elvinger Hoss Prussen donates a special funding to the Red Cross to support flood victims in Luxembourg

During the first hours of the heavy flooding in July 2021, staff and volunteers of the Red Cross engaged in providing assistance, accompanying victims, giving them access to necessities, providing information about the right steps to take and setting up a dedicated helpline.

The impact of these floods was immediate and brutal for many families. The public authorities and insurance companies intervened, but some people found themselves unable to meet the urgent expenses necessary for them to resume their normal lives. The Luxembourg Red Cross’ Solidarity Fund can provide them with rapid assistance and Elvinger Hoss Prussen decided to help with additional funding for these people and support them with the consequences of this natural disaster.

In addition, the Red Cross has implemented plans to continue providing services, for its own infrastructures affected by the floods. It has also organised emergency accommodation in its various buildings for several dependent elderly people whose homes are no longer habitable.
