ALFI Global Distribution Conference 2023

The discussions at the ALFI’s 2023 Global Distribution Conference on September, organised by the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, reflected the evolving priorities of Europe’s – and the world’s - investment fund industry. The gathering of industry professionals at Luxembourg’s European Convention Center, along with guests from the United States and Asia, examined in particular the new focus on retail investment – not just to help individuals and households save for their retirement and other priorities, but to unlock new capital flows that can help fund the climate transition

Partner Olivia Moessner took part in the conference on the panel "Regulatory developments: Any game changers on the horizon?".  This panel has reviewed, discussed and debated both the business and regulatory implications arising from the most recent significant EU and Luxembourg regulatory developments. The latter included the Retail Investment Strategy (RIS), the status of the AIFMD/UCITS Review, the latest updates on the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and related ESMA guidelines, the expected impact of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive on the asset management industry as well as the package of recent measures taken by Luxembourg to modernise its investment fund toolbox.
