IBA 38th International Financial Law Conference

On 10 to 12 May, the International Bar Association (IBA) organised its 38th International Financial Law Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. The three day conference tackled a number of current topics, including: Cross-border clients (and avoid cultural landmines), Loan portfolio sales - servicing regulation and secondary markets, Taking the decision on where to list and why?, Property rights and interests in crypto assets, Best practices when things go wrong? Client diversity expectation, Due diligence and disclosure in an on-line world, Latest developments with ESG aspects, FinTech: How is the world shaping the financial innovation industry?, The start-up’s journey from VC financing to IPO.

On Friday 12 May, Partner Cintia Martins Costa co-chaired a workshop on Project financing: latest developments with ESG aspects. The session discussed the current trends and future outlook of ESG and its impact on structuring projects and their financing and the new requirements applicable to stakeholders involved in such projects.

Partner Katia Panichi and Associates Silvie Gomes Fernandes and Tiago Nogueira accompanied Cintia to Lisbon.
