Reserved Alternative Investment Funds (RAIF)

In our Newsflash of 27 November 2015 we stated that the legislative process for a bill of law introducing a new type of Luxembourg AIF managed by an authorised AIFM, the Reserved Alternative Investment Fund (“RAIF”), had been initiated.

We explained that the RAIF will have substantially the same characteristics (and flexibilities) as a SIF-AIF, the main difference being that the RAIF will not be subject to authorisation and supervision by the Luxembourg supervisory authority and that therefore the timeframe within which a RAIF can be set up and launched will be more attractive from a time-to-market perspective.
