2025 Elvinger Hoss Annual Fintech Conference
We were delighted to host the second edition of our flagship Fintech event, the 2025 Elvinger Hoss Annual Fintech Conference held on 16 September 2025 at Spuerkeess at 19 avenue de la Liberté in Luxembourg.
During this conference, Sophie, Gary, Tiago and Anaïs explored how Fintech can foster the dynamic of our financial sector and encourage broader participation in investment. We also explored the added values and challenges for asset managers and crypto-asset service providers.
Panels and speakers
#1: MiCa state of play - Technical challenges and successes
This panel discussed the regulatory framework for MiCA applications and provided market stakeholders with an opportunity to discuss their achievements and challenges in the context of their MiCA applications. Nicolas Baeyens from the CSSF, Loubna Moubarak from Coinbase, Ami Nagata from Zodia Custody and Denzel Walters from B2C2 shared their experiences. The CSSF also contributed to the discussion from the regulator’s perspective.
#2: Practical aspects - DLT, tokenization, and investments in crypto-assets
The second panel highlighted recent successes leveraging DLT, tokenization, and investments in crypto-assets, offering the audience valuable feedback and shared experiences on the diverse approaches available to the asset management industry. From Azimut’s Marco Maneri to Catriona Kellas from Franklin Templeton, BNP Paribas’ Robert Van Kerkhoff to Olivier Portenseigne from FundsDLT, there is no single path to entering this evolving market. Freshfields Germany’s Theresa Kreft provided insights from the German promotors, where activity is particularly strong.
#3: AI - Developments and regulatory impact
The third panel focused on the use of AI tools by regulated entities, whether these tools are accessible to customers and investors to enhance their experience or used internally to improve efficiency and speed. Panelists from various segments of the industry (asset management but also asset servicing) discussed the challenges of designing AI tools for the financial sector, as well as the regulatory considerations involved in onboarding such tools, including initial due diligence and ongoing monitoring. Arnaud Brive from Juniper Square, Benjamin Collette from Palana, Ulf Herbig independent and chairman of EFAMA AI Task Force and ALFI working group for "Technology & Innovation”, Filipe Pais from LuxProvide and George Ralph from RFA provided a cross-functional view and help gain perspective.
Final interview - CSSF
The conference concluded with the interview of Ms. Cécile Gellenoncourt (Head of Department Supervision of Information Systems and Support PFS) together with Ms. Kathrin Moules (Deputy head of Department Supervision of Information Systems and Support PFS) from the CSSF. From CSSF expectations regarding due diligence and monitoring of AI tools to DORA implementation, this was an opportunity to hear about CSSF’s perspectives.
